Morvedra Nou was one of those hotels I wanted to visit mainly because of its design. Set in the Menorcan countryside in a 17th-century estate, it has been restored without losing the character of the original architecture. Stone walls, exposed beams, natural materials and contemporary furniture all work together without making the space feel overly designed.
The location is also a big part of the experience. Cala Macarella and Cala Macarelleta are among the closest and most beautiful beaches to visit from Morvedra Nou, with clear turquoise water surrounded by pine trees.
Ciutadella is nearby, perfect for wandering through its old streets, discovering small shops and stopping for dinner. We spent the days exploring this side of Menorca and came back in the evenings for drinks at the Sunset Bar and dinner at the hotel. Sunset here was easily one of my favourite moments from the stay.
What I loved most about Morvedra Nou was the mix of old and new. I’m always drawn to places where the original architecture is respected rather than hidden. It’s definitely a place I’d come back to.
